UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has issued resolution No27 of 2012 regulating the use of insecticides in fighting public health epidemics.
As per the new resolution, no company is allowed to practice pests control business without obtaining a license from the local authority.

The decision also necessitates the need for pest control companies to only use insecticides registered with the Ministry of Environment and Water and are strictly prohibited to import or use any products unless registering them with the ministry.

Article (6) of the resolution bans advertising any insecticides without a license for import and use.

The new resolution also includes a number of safety regulations and measures that should be strictly applied by pest control companies.

The resolution warns that any company that violates the provisions of this resolution shall face an administrative closure for a period not exceeding three months, after which period the local authority may allow the violating company to resume its business before the closure duration ends in the circumstance that the company sets its house in order.

The resolution further stipulates that violators will face a permanent administrative closure and withdrawal of their licenses in the case of their failure to eliminate the cause of the violation after the expiration of the administrative closure.
