Mohammed's welcoming speech on the opening of the 2012 Dubai World Cup

In an interview with the Dubai World Cup official magazine, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum welcomed the guests and contestants in this global event that celebrates horse and manifests spirit of international competition. Following is His Highness Speech:
For the third year in a row, Dubai World Cup is held in its home, Meydan, the iconic sport and entertainment complex and the most distinguished worldwide.
Dubai World Cup travelled a seventeen years successful journey; establishing Meydan was the most exciting and joyful chapter. This project was completed in world record time.
Dubai World Cup attracts world class horses, jockeys, trainers and owners from all over the world and every year one of them amuse us with a new masterpiece story about challenge, determination and courage.
2011, Victorie Pisa led a home one-two inspiring victory for Japan and made an unforgettable night.
Now, we welcome new set of horses and jockeys; this night shall be a dream come true for some of them.
Dubai World Cup night is one of a kind, and this year we present nine magnificent races.
It is our pleasure and privilege in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, Meydan, Dubai Racing Club and Emirates Racing Authority to present Dubai World Cup 2012. We wish all the best for owners, trainers and jockeys competing this evening and we invite them to write history.
