Mohammed visits the Elderly Center in Al Mamzar
UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum visited the Dubai Health Authority’s Elderly Center at Al Mamzar.
Accompanying Sheikh Mohammed on his visit were Dubai Deputy Ruler Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Director of Dubai Ruler's Office Lt. General Musabbah Rashid Al Fattan and Dubai’s Director of Protocol and Hospitality Khalifa Saeed Suleiman.
Sheikh Mohammed and the accompanying delegation were received by the Director General of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) Qadhi Saeed Al Murooshid, Director of Elderly Centre Dr. Salwa Abdulla Alsuwaidi, acting director of Dubai Rehabilitation Center Dr. Mohammed Ali Al Swaini and a number of senior officials at the Center.
Sheikh Mohammed toured the center and inspected the living conditions to ensure quality medical and psychological services are provided to residents, in accordance with His Highness’s instructions, as they are the fathers and grandfathers who lived and grew up in this land, patiently offering their lives to build this modern nation.
In his presentation, Qadhi Saeed Al Murooshid said that the Elderly Centre, established in 1993 following the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed, is home for 25 elders and admits another 50 visitors for medical treatments and temporary housing. He added that the expansions of the centre ordered by His Highness will enable yet another 25 elders to be admitted to the Center and receive the medical treatments and support from qualified doctors and dedicated nurses.
Following the presentation, Sheikh Mohammed browsed plans, designs and blueprints of the Dubai Rehabilitation Centre, a nursing home established following the directives of His Highness earlier this year to provide physiotherapy and rehabilitation services primarily for patients suffering from common acute medical conditions such as osteoporosis, arthritis etc.
According to Al Murooshid, the 7000-square-meter Center located in Jumeirah area and cost around AED 40 million will be completed in three months.
Sheikh Mohammed expressed satisfaction over the new facility supplied with state-of-the-art equipments and technology and ordered to quickly finish the center to make available a safe environment and excellent services for its patients.
