Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation and Tanmia sign MoU
The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Tanmia (The National Human Resource Development '&' Employment Authority) as part of its aims to develop the knowledge and human capabilities of the Arab World to introduce a future generation of regional leaders.
Sultan Ali Lootah, acting CEO of the Foundation and Nasser Butti Sultan Al Shamsi, director general of Tanmia, signed the MoU in the presence of a number of officials from both sides at Tanmia building.
The memorandum states that additional workshops will be held and collection of books from the Foundation's Oktub and Tarjim programmes will be provided to Tanmia through the "No Companion like a Good Book" initiative within the framework of the foundation goals to enrich the knowledge outcome among Tanmia employees.
Oktub (Arabic word for Write) Programme aims at laying the foundations of a Pan-Arab literary renaissance that will contribute to reviving the region's rich cultural heritage, while Tarjem (Arabic word for translate) Programme seeks to develop the translation process in the Arab World by translating foreign works into Arabic and vice versa.
Lootah stressed that the memorandum's purpose is to strengthening cooperation and expand it to host more workshops and provide Tanmia with variety of the Foundation books.
He also praised the job scale workshops project, which generated great interest among job-seekers. Over 90 job seekers from both sex were trained.
For his part, Al Shamsi said that the memorandum aims at making the UAE a model in developing local human resources of high proficiency and competitiveness.
