Mohammed receives well-wishers on winning Endurance title for 2nd day

Mohammed bin Rashid welcomes one of the well-wishers

UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum received for the second consecutive day at Zabeel Palace a host of well-wishers who came to congratulate him on winning the 2012 FEI World Endurance Championship title and leading the UAE squad to claim the team title at Euston Park in Suffolk, UK.

Present at the reception were Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Deputy Ruler Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation and Chief Executive of Emirates Group Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority Sheikh Majid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Sheikh Rashid bin Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum and a number of Sheikhs and senior officials.

The well-wishers, including a number of directors and officials of government departments, leading community figures, a host of senior sportsmen and members of sport federations and directors and officials from the  General Authority for Youth and Sports Welfare led by its Secretary General Ebrahim Abdul Malik, in addition to the staff at Dubai Sports channel led by its Director Rashid Amir, congratulated Sheikh Mohammed on the historic victory achieved by Sheikh Mohammed winning the individual title of the championship and leading the UAE squad to claim the 160-km FEI World Endurance Championship team title, stating that such an achievement remains an exemplary for Emirati and Arab athletes and a success to be added to His Highness records of achievements as well as the UAE Equestrian achievements.

Sheikh Mohammed also received well-wishers form Dubai Health Authority’s physicians working at Latifa Hospital, Rashid Hospital and Dubai Hospital, as well as officials and members of The Women's Committee of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) led by its Chairperson Khawla Al Mehairi, The Women's Sports Committee of Dubai Sports Council, United Arab Emirates Cycling Federation and UAE Taekwondo and Karate Federation, expressing their pride over such a triumph.

His Highness also received the Middle East Broadcasting Centre MBC Group’s chairman and CEO Sheikh Waleed Al Ibrahim and a number of sport editors.

The remarkable victory is the third in a row following victories in 2008 World Endurance Championship- Malaysia and in the 2010 World Endurance Championship- Kentucky, USA.
