Awards

Introduction

The Dubai Cultural and Scientific Association established the Sheikh Rashid Award for Academic Excellence in 1988 under the patronage of Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Sheikh Mohammed finances and presents the annual awards to UAE students who have achieved outstanding results at their respective academic levels.

The Competition

The Dubai Cultural and Scientific Association nominates and selects each year's winners, all of whom are UAE nationals. They range from holders of Masters and PhDs to outstanding students from the UAE's universities, Higher Colleges and secondary schools.

 

Prizes

Each student receives a certificate stating his or her achievement. There is also an awards fund of six million dirhams, which is used to assist some of the winners in their pursuit of excellence.
