UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum received a trade delegation representing chambers of commerce and industry in 23 American states at Za'abeel Palace this afternoon.

Sheikh Mohammed met with the delegation's chairman, President of the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mr. David Adkisson, in the presence of Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The business leaders are in the UAE at the invitation of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which has organised a detailed itinerary with the delegation scheduled to visit a number of tourist, commercial, financial and academic entities.

During the meeting Sheikh Mohammed exchanged views with the delegation's chairman and members, with the talks concentrating on current economic conditions in the region and around the world. The conversation also turned to international investments, as well as educational and humanitarian concerns, especially in the world's least developed countries.

The delegates listened as Sheikh Mohammed explained how the UAE's leadership and government institutions have focused their efforts on improving living conditions and raising educational standards in poor countries around the globe. After describing the work carried out by Zayed Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, the Emirates Red Crescent Society, Dubai Cares, Noor Dubai and the Al Maktoum Foundation for Charity, Sheikh Mohammed spoke about the importance of humanitarian and cultural communication between people.

The delegation's chairman praised developments in the UAE, noting that the world-class infrastructure and high level of social integration reflect the wise policies of the country's leadership, who value humanitarian progress above all else. Expressing his admiration for the UAE's economy, Mr. Adkisson described it as cohesive and diverse, and, due to its proximity to large population centers, a magnet for international companies.
